One of the biggest new features is the ability for players to create their own set of prompts to play or share with others. Hardly a game changer, but it at least allows you to try to draw with a little more detail. First off, you are now allowed to draw using two colours instead of just the one. The rules may be the same as the original and the visuals even sport the same scribbled style complete with mouth-made sound effects but for those practised in the art of Drawful, the sequel does include a few new features. It’s important to remember that no matter how bizarre a potential answer might seem, it could very well be the correct one. Things like “evil twin” and “stinky bra” are some of the more doable drawings that may pop up but also thrown in are some real curve balls such as “sorry, wrong number”. Not only are some of them just plain funny, but they often make it tougher on players to pick out the correct answer amongst the lies. What makes Drawful 2 so unpredictable is the sheer silliness and randomness of the prompts you are assigned to scribble down. Making use of a technology that let’s face we’re very rarely without (just ask my wife) was and still is the best move for these types of games. Even numerous games in, this still remains a fantastic way to get big groups involved without the need to pay hundreds on extra controls.

Just like previous Jackbox Games releases before it, Drawful 2 is playable for up to eight players (with more able to join as the audience) using your smartphone, tablet or even a browser on your computer. The original Drawful was in the first Jackbox Party Pack, then Drawful 2 became a standalone sequel because it was the breakout hit. Sometimes the best you can do is just stop before you make it any worse. Drawful's tools are intentionally scrappy enough that everyone's drawings come out wonky. I have never felt such shame as when I attempted to depict "Pride & Prejudice" with Colin Firth emerging from the lake and. I played a few rounds with pals only a few weeks ago and had felt such pride as when everyone could tell I was drawing "drinking the liquid from a Magic 8-Ball".
